The British Judo Association & Celtic Contractors

Sport is something most of us enjoy. Celtic are always appreciative of sporting talent, so with that in mind its our pleasure to follow and help promote two young lads from Worthing, West Sussex who have quite a story behind them.

In 2013 John Whyte was so impressed with the work rate of each boy that he kindly donated each of them with new Fighting Films Judo Suits as they continue to impress up and down the country. The Leonard's offer thanks to John and Celtic Contractors for taking such a hands on interest and helping to make objectives in this sport a possibility. It's very much appreciated.

The International Judo Federation have implemented new rules on the suits which effects Connor from immediate effect and Josh in December. They are not cheap, especially when they need four so it was nice for Celtic to help!

Celtic Managing Director John Whyte was pleased to purchase the new suits from Fighting Films so the boys can progress at the top level! All of us at Celtic look forward to following them in the up and coming years!

A word from Mrs Karen Leonard 13.05.15 (Connor & Josh's mother)

I would like to thank Celtic Contractors for their continuing support of our boys. They train so hard and have achieved so much already in their chosen sport! The generosity of your company makes the journey so much easier, officials can stop you from fighting if your suit does not meet regulations! They are very expensive to purchase so to supply four is incredible!

Thank you so much John, Karen Leonard - proud mum.

Its our pleasure Karen. We wish your boys much success and are very happy to support them both!

Connor & Josh dominated the events held by the British Judo Council in their early years and it was suggested they should move to a strong club within the British Judo Association. The British Judo Association (BJA) is the governing body for the Olympic Sport of Judo in the United Kingdom so it made sense. The timing of the move came at a difficult time as both boys had been selected to represent the BJC's National Squad at the Ippon Trophy, Antwerp, Belgium, December 2012. The offer was declined and since then both Connor and Josh have continued to achieve in judo at the highest levels in the UK and Europe.

After defending the BJC National Champion Title 2012 and finally selected for the BJC National Squad it was an awkward time to leave the BJC. 12 months on Connor became the BJA National Champion 2013 and sits on the Cadet GBR Squad. 2015/16 Connor was Nationally ranked number 1 GBR in the Cadet (u18yrs) category and 12th in the Juniors (u21yrs) still at 15yrs of age.

Josh is also the 2014 A-Band British National Champion & 2016 British Schools Judo Champion. Both boys are the only current National Champions from Sussex.
