Our environmental policy actively encourages recycling, minimisation of waste and avoidance of pollution. Care for the environment extends to consideration for our neighbours who may reside adjacent or close to our operational activities. We are committed to the considerate contractor scheme and are always mindful of any impact we may have to them.

We have already achieved accreditation under the Environmental management system (ISO 14001). We regularly work with main contactors and clients alike to achieve awards of excellence with sustainability and environmental schemes such as BREEAM and LEED GOLD.


Care for the environment also extends to consideration for our clients neighbours’ who may reside adjacent or close to our operational activities. We are committed to the Considerate Constructor Scheme and are always mindful of any impact we may have on neighbours, acting accordingly to reduce or eliminate any possible nuisance.

Environmental Policy and Objectives

Policy Statement

Celtic Contractors Ltd is committed to conduct its business with respect and care for the environment.

The Directors of Celtic Contractors Ltd regard the promotion of environmental measures as a mutual objective for management, employees at all levels and those working for or on behalf of the company, and are committed to providing the resources necessary to fully implement the Comany Environmental Policy which is designed to satisfy the requirements of the ISO 14001:2004 standard, and operate environmental best practice throughout the company.

Our company will carry out its activities with consideration for the environment as part of the process to prevent pollution and minimise waste.

In order to meet the above requirements, Celtic Contractors Ltd will:

  • Hold all employees and contractors accountable for environmental performance of their areas of responsibility;
  • Monitor our use of energy, transport and natural resources with a view to reducing our impact on the environment;
  • Support process modifications and products that reduce pollution and waste and encourage recycling;
  • Maintain sufficient documentation to demonstrate compliance with the environmental requirements;
  • Work with all our contractors and suppliers to promote positive environmental actions in accordance with our stated objectives;
  • Comply with all applicable environmental legislation and recognise other relevant requirements that may be placed upon us by our customers.
  • Assess, in advance where possible, environmental impact resulting from business operations and the environmental effects of any significant development, and adjust the company plans accordingly.
  • Ensure that all incidents and non compliance situations are reported, recorded and route causes identified where environmental hard occurs or could have occured and ensure that corrective and preventive actions are implemented.
  • Demonstrate our commitment to continual improvement by setting targets and objectives for all our products and Company activites and review these measures on a regular basis.
  • Maintain an open communication environment, whereby, all employees can actively participate in the Environmental Management System. Managers and supervisors are encouraged to address employees' questions and concerns promptly and thoroughly
  • To communicate and provide the necessary information, instruction, supervision and training to enable all persons, affected by the Compnay undertakings, to carry out their environmental duties.

  • This Policy will be made available to our employees, to those working for or on behalf of the company and provided on request to any other interested parties. This policy will be periodically reviewed in accordance with Company procedure. We also recognise that we have a responsibility to encourage our suppliers, to assist us in achieving our environmental objectives by providing products and services that are in-line with best environmental practice.

    Responsibility

    Florin Constantin Cristat has the overall responsibility for the Environmental Policy, implementation, review and continual improvement of the Environmental Management System. The Environmental Policy is reviewed quarterly by Directors and staff representatives. The review incorporates the co-ordination, implementation monitoring and continual improvement of the Environmental Review throughout the company. The Environmental Policy and Action Plan update with be comminicated to all staff and a copy will be displayed on the staff notice board. Copies may be made to customers on request.

    Each employee is accountable for:

  • Co-operating with company to achieve safe, healthy and environmentally sound operations within our site and outside;
  • Not interfering with or misusing any device provided to meet our environmental obligations or policy;
  • The Company's Environmental Policy will play a key role in working toward sustainable development, because the health and well-being of our environmental is crucial for providing us all with a good quality of life, both today and for the years to come.

    We at Celtic Contractors Ltd recognise the potential impact of our services on the environment and the need to focus on sustainability and sustainability issues. We are totally committed to a polic of increasing the sustainability of our operations. This requires us to consider to following factors before commencing each project.

  • Energy: Reducing energy consumption, being more energy efficient and using renewable energy and alternative technology.
  • Materials: Choosing, using, re-using and recycling materials during design, manufacture, construction and maintenance to reduce resource requirements
  • Waste: Producing less waste and recycling more.
  • Pollution: Producing less toxicity, water and noise pollution.

     

    Celtic Contractors Ltd talk to our suppliers about where and how materials are sourced and try to achieve a balance between benefits of using renewable resources and energy and the cost of doing so. We will ensure our operatives and site staff are trained to understand the importance of minimising waste, energy use and pollution during construction.
