Health and Safety Policy

We have a zero tolerance for accidents and safety is paramount to our Day to Day business. All our managers and operatives receive the latest and up to date training offered within the construction industry.  All our managers have a minimum of SMSTS certificates. Site inductions are mandatory on all our sites and safety issues are reviewed regularly. We employ an independent Health & safety consultant to support our full time in house health and safety managers. We monitor all aspects of our performance and carry out lengthy audits at regular intervals of all our operations.

To Ensure, as far as reasonably practible, the health, safety and welfare of all our Employees while they are at work, and of others others who may be affected by their undertakings, and to comply with all relevant legislation.

To ensure the principles of health & safety are clearly understood throughout Celtic Contractors Ltd, we are committed to:

Ensuring that there are arrangements put in to place for the effective planning, development and review of this health and safety policy.

Ensuring the appropriate systems are developed and maintained for the effective communication of health and safety matters throughout the company.

Protecting the safety and health of all Employees within the company by preventing work related injuries, ill health, disease and incidents.

Complying with the relevant health & safety laws and regulations voluntary programmes, collective agreements on health and safety and other requirements to which the company subscribes.

Ensuring that Employees and their representatives are consulted and encouraged to participate actively in all elements of the Health & Safety Management System.

Continually improving the performance of the Health & Safety Management System.

Provide the necessary information, instruction and training to Employees and others, including temporary Employees to ensure their competence with respect to health & safety.

Devote the necessary resources in the form of finance, equipment, personnel and time to ensure health and safety of Employees. Expert help will be sought where the necessary skills are not within the company.

Liase and work with all the necessary persons to ensure health and safety, and will also ensure that the adequate arrangements are also in place for ensuring the health and safety of visitors.

 

The ultimate responsibility for health and safety within Celtic Contractors Ltd lies with the Director.

The Director will annually review the Health and Safery policy for continued suitability.

The Director will review, sign and date the Health & Safety Statement annually, and bring it to the attention of all Employees

We recognize that safety is the responsibility of everyone and is not just a function of management. Employees will have specific duties and responsibilities to comply with the letter and spirit of the policy. Employees have specific responsibilities to take reasonable care of themselves and others that could be their activities and to co-operate to achieve the standards required.

The Company will in consultation with our Employees and their representives set out in writing a commitment to ensuring that our health and safety policy will be;

Specific to the Company and appropriate to the nature of our activities.

Concise, clearly written, dated and made effective by the signature of the Director.

Communicated and readily accessible to all persons at their place of work.

Reviewed for continuing suitability.

Made available to relevant external interested parties, as appropriate.

 

Safety on site

• Accidents and Injuries are preventable.

• Each of us has a personal responsibility for our safety of others both on and off the job.

• No business objective is wo important that it will be pursued at the sacrafice of safety.

• Safe conduct of operations is a condition of employment at Celtic Contracts.

• A job is well done only if its done safely.

• Celtic Contracts should have the best safety performance in the inductries in which we do business.
